What's The Bark?
You beauty! Summer is finally back – and while this New Year’s Eve on the lash will look a little different to years gone by (does ANYONE have their head around that idiot traffic light system, yet?) We’re fucking thrilled to be saying hooroo to the shitshow of 2021 and looking ahead to a couple of months of sun, surf, and bikini-clad sheilas.
The great Kiwi summer is always about good beer, good food and hitting some of the iconic festivals throughout New Zealand over the Chrissie break. Up the ante on your backyard barbeque with beer cocktails (page 28) and the best kebabs to slay your hunger (pages 56-57), and be sure to check out what’s on over the next couple of months in the latest What’s Up, New Zealand? events line-up from page 12.
If hunting and fishing are your thing, head straight to this issue’s Wag the Tail section for a real-life read from Shae Clark on Tahr Hunting in the Alps (pages 16 – 19), and check out our mammoth Share Your Shot selection of reader hunting and fishing photos from page 24.
Prefer your sport a little less outdoorsy, and a little more bloody? Get the lowdown on 10 Great MMA fighters to Watch, pages 20 – 23.
In men’s health and wellness, Michael Botur explores What’s Going On with Weed from page 34, and we talk to Soul Studio about why an increasing number of Kiwi men are giving hot yoga a try... and why you should, too (page 52).
Of course, it wouldn’t be the same magazine you all know and love without a little x-rated content, so go ahead and skip straight to our lovely centrefold (as if that wasn’t the first thing you did when you got your mitts on the mag) to feast your eyes on the gorgeous Caitlyn. We’ve also got some great sex-ed interviews to keep you informed and entertained, so head to pages 50-51 for a chat with Sinful Adult Mega Store – who know what women want in bed – and then check out a real life read, Fucking for Sport with My Partner’s Support, for the ins and outs of navigating a polyamorous relationship (from page 46).
In our regular features, The Dogpound offers the incredible true story of Ashburton-local Filipa Payne, and her fight to support 501 deportees in Mum Versus Goliath f rom page 8. Our Doggy Style section gives you the skinny on selecting the perfect pair of shades for summer (see pages 54 – 55), while all of your burning questions are answered by our resident call girl, Amber, from page 42.
